Join us for an electrifying afternoon where aspiring startup founders connect, share ideas, and level up with top-tier mentors from Venture Mechanics. Come explore whether your idea is truly venture-scale and fundable in today's competitive climate. Experience high-energy networking alongside our signature Open-Mic Pitch Slam. No pitch deck, just raw passion and real-time feedback in a casual safe space.
Q: Where are these meetups held?
A: We move them around Seattle, and sometimes even other locations in the state, to give founders everywhere an opportunity to easily participate.
Q: Is there a cost?
A: This depends on the venue. Most of the time there is a $20 cost to help cover venue rental and light snacks and beverages. There are sponsorship opportunities available to zero out the price of admission. There is no additional cost to participate in the Pitch Slam.
Q: How do I know if my idea is ready to pitch to a live audience?
A: Any seasoned entrepreneur will tell you that the only way to get good at pitching is to eventually stand up in front of a live audience and practice, practice, practice until your messaging and delivery get smooth. Still not sure you should? See our blog article From Panic to Precision: Practicing Your Way to a Fundable Pitch
Q: What's the parking situation?
A: This again depends on the venue. At some locations like the Mercer Island Community Center parking is free, and it's also a short walk from the Park & Ride bus and light rail station. For downtown Seattle events we always recommend using an app like SpotHero or ParkWhiz to get a great deal. Don't fritter away your last dollar on expensive parking, save it for the limo ride to the VC!
