Behind the Scenes of the Venture Capital Industry

Everything you won't easily find about how venture funds, angel investors, angel groups, family offices and other capital sources actually operate, and why rejection rates are so high. Don't make the classic founder mistake of pitching every VC you meet and wasting previous runway on unproductive meetings. Learn instead how to qualify the investors you want to spend time with, from understanding their investment thesis to learning where they are in their investment cycles, and much, much more.

5:00 - 7:00

Stress Testing Your Business Idea for Venture Scalability

A deep dive into what makes a company venture fundable and what it truly means to be "venture scale."  We’ll cover the key metrics, growth trajectories, fundraising requirements, and exit expectations investors look for, along with the operational demands, tradeoffs, and long-term implications of pursuing a high-growth path.

Classes are small so as to spend time on each founder's questions specific to their sector and their venture. There are usually multiple mentors from the Venture Mechanics Catapult Accelerator program in the room, as well, to provide additional perspectives to founders about their specific startups.
