Venture Forge

Most startup programs wait for founders to bring them an idea. We've flipped that model.

Venture Forge is a program unlike anything else in the startup ecosystem. Our team at Venture Mechanics identifies, researches, and stress-tests business concepts with genuine venture-scale potential. We vet them against real market data, investor appetite, and competitive dynamics — the same rigorous process we apply to every startup in our Catapult Accelerator, only we're doing it before a founder walks in the door.

Once a concept clears that bar, we do something different: we go looking for the right person to build it.

That person is you — an experienced operator, domain expert, or serial entrepreneur who has the skills, credibility, and drive to take a vetted concept from blueprint to fundable company. You don't need to spend months validating whether the opportunity is real. That work is done. What you bring is the execution.

Why This Is Different

It's not a venture studio. In a traditional venture studio, founders walk in with a concept and will often give up a third of their equity for some free office space and sprinkled mentorship advice for a few months. Venture Forge is different. We built the rocket and are looking for the astronaut crew to fly it. You lead the team. We are your launch infrastructure.

It's not a blank canvas. You're not starting from a napkin sketch. Every Venture Forge concept has been evaluated for market size, competitive positioning, business model viability, and investor fit. You inherit a foundation that has already survived serious scrutiny.

It's not slow. Because the concept is pre-validated and you arrive as an experienced operator, the path from day one to fundable state is dramatically compressed. You skip the early-stage fumbling that costs most startups months of wasted effort and investor credibility.

What You Get

Automatic Admission to the Catapult Accelerator Every Venture Forge founder is immediately enrolled in our Catapult Accelerator — no application, no waiting list. The Catapult is our flagship program, purpose-built to get startup teams fully augmented and funded. You'll have the full weight of that program behind you from the start.

A Network of 200+ Mentors, Activated on Your Behalf The Venture Mechanics mentor network is the most experienced and engaged in the Pacific Northwest. Catapult's unique "mentor conclave" model brings 10 to 15 hand-selected, seasoned experts together as a team around your specific company, giving you the kind of focused, expert-level guidance most founders never get at any stage. After the initial conclave an assigned quarterback continuously brings in new mentors for the next tasks the founder team has to tackle well. And it doesn’t end after funding; Venture Mechanics is with you for the long haul.

A Clear Path to Fundable From your first day in the Catapult, you'll work with a dedicated quarterback mentor who coordinates your mentor team, tracks your progress, and helps you chart a clear course to closing as many funding rounds as it takes. We don't just introduce you to investors — we help you become investor-ready.

A Business Plan Grounded in Real Diligence The concept you're building has already been examined for market entry strategy, go-to-market approach, and exit potential. You start with a substantive foundation, not a blank document.

Who We're Looking For

Venture Forge is highly selective. We are not looking for first-time founders learning as they go. We are looking for operators who can hit the ground running.

The ideal Venture Forge candidate has deep domain expertise or operating experience directly relevant to the concept at hand. They have led teams, managed P&L responsibility, navigated complex markets, or built and scaled products before. They are ready to commit full-time, and they understand what it means to build a company that investors want to fund.

If you've spent years mastering a domain and have wondered what it would look like to build something within it on your own terms — this program was built for you.

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Have 10+ years of operating, domain, or entrepreneurial experience
  • Are ready to commit as a full-time CEO or co-founder
  • Have led teams or functions at a venture-backed or high-growth company
  • Have relevant expertise that matches one or more of our current concepts
  • Are looking for a structured, well-resourced launch environment rather than going it alone

The Process

Step 1: Join our Mentor Program This will give us a courtship period for our team to get to know you, and for you to get to know our team. Think of it as something akin to an Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, giving you exposure to all the ways in which Venture Mechanics supports the ecosystem, and all the startups and fellow mentors in it. When you onboard, let us know that you’re interested in exploring Venture Forge opportunities, too.

Step 2: Concept Matching If your profile looks like a strong fit for one of our Forge companies, we'll introduce you to it. This is a candid conversation, not a pitch — we want to make sure the fit is mutual.

Step 3: Diligence and Alignment We'll go deep together on the business concept, the market, the team-building requirements, and the path to funding. You'll have the opportunity to interrogate every assumption before committing.

Step 4: Launch into Catapult Once aligned, you formally take the reins as the founding operator and are admitted to the Catapult Accelerator. From that point forward, the full resources of Venture Mechanics are mobilized around your success.

Ready to Build Something That's Already Been Vetted?

If you have the operating experience to match, we want to hear from you. Venture Forge opportunities are limited and matched individually - this is not an open enrollment program. Follow the steps above to get involved.
