I created Heavy Resume because I had enough with "playing along" with broken interview processes. I had seen this from both sides and realized the common problem was lack of information and distrust. To counteract this, hiring teams have they've injected interviews, skills tests, and other things that make sense to do once, but not for every single job you apply to. The purpose of Heavy Resume is to have a single, deep, interactive document that can answer your questions. In an ideal future state, hiring teams can not only see who is qualified in batch (which is possible now), they can also see the nuanced differences between candidates in batch as well. Additionally, being a platform means that Heavy Resume can deviate from norms in a way that a single job seeker could not. This means creating debiased resumes that hide your name and obfuscate your previous employers are possible.

I see all of this as a foundation for much more. Imagine not having to harass people to be a reference, or having actual quantified data to back up your skills beyond just your own adjectives and opinion.

I am a full stack software engineer with over 17 years of professional experience across a variety of technologies, primarily backend focused and in Python, but have also touched various other non-web technologies such as Android, Unity, and others. I work with an emphasis on constantly improving the development process and getting things done pragmatically by not creating unnecessary work.

I've also been typing since 1st grade (my Dad thought it would be funny for me to turn in assignments via an electric typewriter) and coding since I was 11. Long before any of this was standard in schools.
