After graduating from Dartmouth College, I served as a Military Intelligence officer with a Top Secret security clearance in the U.S. Army. While deployed to Bosnia, I led a team that oversaw field operations and provided threat analysis to our squadron commander and his senior staff, and I also partnered with non-governmental organizations to support the return of Bosnian civilians to their homes in the Zone of Separation between the newly defined territories of the former warring factions.
I received an honorable discharge from the Army and embarked on a lengthy career in high-tech sales operations, project management, marketing, and business development, earning my M.B.A. at Duke University along the way. My ongoing success in the private sector depended on establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships and building consensus with a wide variety of stakeholders, including customers, partners, and colleagues. I designed and managed many successful programs that required crafting workplans, navigating sophisticated decision-making, handling budget and risk needs, and ensuring timely and thorough communication.
After a multi-year hiatus to focus on family, community, and creative interests, I decided to launch the latest chapter of my professional life as an entrepreneur at the intersection of clean technology and the built environment.
