I was GM of AWS Audit Manager when the Gen AI architecture shift happened. I watched us try to retrofit cloud-era compliance tools onto LLMs and autonomous agents and saw exactly why it couldn't work.

At AWS, security, compliance, and data governance were three separate silos. Customers stitched them together manually. In the agentic era, that breaks completely.
