
Lauren Sato is a seasoned startup executive and systems thinker, known for scaling
organizations and tackling intractable social problems through disciplined growth strategy and
operational excellence. With deep cross-functional experience spanning operations, technology,
revenue, people, and product, Lauren brings a rare blend of strategic vision and executional rigor
to every team she leads.
Lauren is currently the Founder & CEO of Komyūn, a social platform designed to support healthy,
monetizable digital communities. She launched the company to realign social media revenue
models with community well-being rather than engagement-driven exploitation.
Previously, Lauren led digital transformation efforts in professional sports, spearheading
technology innovation for Seattle Sounders FC and Reign FC and shaping fan engagement
strategies for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Seattle Local Organizing Committee. Prior to this, she
served as CEO of Ada Developers Academy, where she expanded a local coding bootcamp into
a national powerhouse, growing revenue fivefold and raising $11 million from Melinda French
Gates and MacKenzie Scott.
Her leadership portfolio includes driving 3x revenue growth at The Riveter, leading 3x people
growth at RealSelf, launching innovative impact investing models at Canopy, and leading the
launch and scale strategy at the Puget Sound campus at Year Up. Across every role, she has
focused on building systems that create durable impact at scale.

A lifelong athlete and community advocate, Lauren lives in Kirkland, WA with her husband and
three kids and enjoys playing and coaching soccer in her free time.
