I’ve never had a conventional career path — but there has been a consistent thread throughout it: I like building, solving difficult problems, and turning ideas into something real.
My professional career began in Brazil with the Brazilian Air Force, where I earned admission to its highly competitive Air Traffic Control training program. That year, approximately 31,500 candidates competed nationwide for 492 positions. I ranked 176th.
I later took a very different path and joined a startup English school as a salesperson when the business had just five students. Within five months, I was promoted to management. By the time I left, the company had grown to more than 2,000 students across three locations.
In 2010, I founded Seattle Sports Videos after recognizing a problem facing young athletes: talent alone wasn’t always enough to get noticed. We filmed athletes and created recruiting and highlight videos designed to help youth, high-school and junior-college players reach coaches, programs and universities they otherwise might not have been able to access.
What began with roughly $600 in first-year revenue grew into a six-figure business. The company ultimately ended as a result of the disruption to youth and school sports during COVID-19.
I later returned to Brazil, where I managed the development and construction of a residential property from the ground up before returning to the United States.
Today, alongside managing complex operations for a 400+ residence luxury apartment community, I am building my most ambitious venture yet: Task Box.
Task Box began with a simple observation: parents are fighting an increasingly difficult battle over children’s screen time, while the tools available to them are overwhelmingly software-based.
We asked a different question:
What if technology could help families turn screen time into productive action instead of simply limiting it?
That question became a physical product, a software platform, and ultimately a company.
Building Task Box has required assembling and coordinating engineers, designers, developers and manufacturing partners across multiple countries while working through the thousands of decisions required to turn an idea into a manufacturable consumer product.
We are building a system designed to help families transform screen time into earned time — and everyday responsibilities into better habits.
The larger mission is simple:
Develop generations of doers.
